We are the world’s leading provider of qualifications in wines, spirits, beer and sake, delivering over 140,000 exams each year to candidates in over 70 countries via our network of Approved Programme Providers (APPs).

We are looking for a dedicated Operations Assistant to join us on a freelance basis, working four days a week, including Saturdays, from our offices (no remote working). This role is crucial in supporting the delivery of resources essential for WSET School London's operations. Key responsibilities include preparing and ensuring all Wine, Spirits, Sake, and Beer samples are in good condition for student sessions. The role also involves collaborating with the Operations Manager and Wine Buyer to manage and maintain stock levels. Core working hours are based on departmental needs, with shifts lasting no more than 8.5 hours per day, typically between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm. The position offers a pay rate of £15 per hour and is strictly office-based.
General duties and responsibilities:
- Picking samples from cellar for courses/events/exams, opening, and checking condition, delivering to classrooms.
- Support Operations Manager, Wine Buyer and School Educators to ensure that samples are showing appropriately and let them know of any issues
- Taking care of deliveries.
- Managing/re-stocking the wine cellar.
- Clean/stock classrooms.
- Tidying the prep room, glassware cleaning, food storage/prep.
- Setting up classrooms for all levels.
- Preparation of accurate picking lists/wine lists/course programs and associated course materials as required.
- Support delivery of onsite and offsite exams
- Identify and escalate low stock levels of all products
Events
- Ensure resources are available for all events.
- Set up classroom to the requirement of the event leader.

Essential Skills
- Able to use a range of Microsoft Office programmes and CRM system.
- Experience of stock management and previous involvement in stock counts and/or audits.
- Knowledge of wines, spirits and sake and experience picking and assessing these products
